Background: Southan Print, an independent print shop in Auckland, approached The Web Guys in 2022 to improve its online visibility and inbound enquiries.
Challenge: There were multiple technical issues with their existing site, as well as a complete lack of content for their different services, both of which contributed to a near zero visibility online.
Execution: My first task was to map their services with the corresponding high search volume keywords, check for recommended word counts on SEO PowerSuite, group into different pillar pages, and finally write the new content. I created three pillar pages - Screen Printing, Digital Printing and Signage - with services under each. Once completed and approved by the client, the new copy was also published online by me. I also rewrote the content on the homepage, and ensured that the on-page optimisation was complete for each page.
Result: As soon as the fresh content was indexed and crawled by Google, the search rankings for many focus keywords shot up. There was an overall increase of 21% in just two weeks!
Of the 11 new pages added, three had first page rankings on Google (rank 1, 5 and 7), including a featured snippet (SERP) for the top ranking keyword. Four had come up to page 2 (rank 10-20), and two others had made it to page 3.
